After my parents divorce, my mother, brother, and I moved to my aunt's house we were going to live in. One late night as we were taking our belongings to the new house I was watching out the window. I saw a man and a women sitting in some sort of small horse wagon. They were sitting in the front and dressed in an old Victorian style. A lantern hung from the seating compartment. I watched intently as a child would fascinated. I never knew of what I saw was real or not, but now I do live in Wylie still, I can never forget what I saw. My ancestors used to own most of Wylie, but once the property got passed down, it got smaller and smaller, and my ancestors sold a little of it. Well, once the property had got passed down to my Great Grandma Mary Howrey, her husband, James howrey, started to build houses on the property. He had finished the houses, but soon died. Every time one of my ancestors on my Great Grandma Howrey's side dies, more and

more occurrences happen. One night, my Dad had gone out and started to work under his 4,000 pound black cougar, with tire jacks. Once he restarted to work on it, my mom went inside to go to bed. And she had just started to fall asleep, and she felt someone shaking her, and say,'' Angela, you need to go check on your husband.'' she heard the voice,

who sounded strangely like James howrey, say. She told the voice she would in a minute. She had started to fall asleep again, and she felt shaking again and the same voice telling her to go check on her husband again, but she rejected. Over and over again had the voice told her to go check on her husband, louder and shaking her harder and harder every time. Finally, the voice seemed to be annoyed and started to shake her rapidly and scream ''ANGELA! GO CHECK ON YOUR HUSBAND, NOW!'' and she awoke to a jerk, and ran outside. Once she had set one foot on the porch, the cougar fell, and landed on my dad, crushing him. My dad had got out of the situation with only a couple of scratches and bruises. But we all will remember, and are very thankful, that my grandpa howrey awoke my mom, and thus, saving my dad's life. . Submitted by Alexys Categories: ancestors, home
