Chloride, Arizona Ghost Tales The Mineshaft Market on Tennessee Ave sits alongside a recently cleared vacant lot. During the early 1900s, a movie theater was located on this now vacant lot. As the lot was being cleared and graded, some large concrete blocks were dislodged and pushed to the edge. As this was being done, groans were heard and thought to be emanating from the small dozer straining under the load of the concrete. Five or six weeks later, the owner of the Mineshaft Market was standing on this lot watching satellites in a brightly starlit sky. Down a hill at the end of the lot, a slight vapor-like image began steadily       rising. As the figure-like vapor grew larger, the very same moaning sounds that had seemed to come from the small dozer were heard once more. Strangly this sound and figure have never been seen again   by the owner of the market or any other Chloride, Arizona locals, but campers staying on the lot have reported three such sightings.
