Custom Search Mount Lemmon, Arizona Ghost Sightings Mount Lemmon PAGE 1   2     One time when I was about 17 years old, me and a few friends decided to go up on mount Lemmon and have a little party. We drove up mount Bigelow and parked way up in the middle of nowhere. There were a lot of kids up there, so me and 2 of my friends decided to go walk around the woods. While we were out there we heard an old steam whistle blow. It was so loud; it sounded like it was 100 yards away. We ended up running off in terror     about a year or two later I was at a bar with my father and a few friends and told the Story about it. Apparently a few of the old timers in the bar told me where I was there was a mine there for years and back in the 1930's there was a cave in and about 15 miners never made it out. They couldn't recover the bodies of the miners because it was so deep in the mountain. They say late at night around 1 or 2am you can still hear that old steam whistle blow even though it's been trapped in that old mine for 80 years now.
