Dark time is living dead time in this place. Some folks who live here argue there are no ghosts, but the stressed spirits of Rio Rico are all too real. These are some of the spooky things that have happened here recently. A female with her head and both legs amputated is regularly witnessed in Agua Fria Canyon at the stroke of midnight drinking blood from a cup. An armed forces outfit strolling around without a body in it has supposedly been seen on many instances rummaging around in the refrigerator in the kitchen of a Rio Rico apartment after midnight. Several of the folks who live here say this phantom enjoys frightening people who come trying to locate phantoms in Rio Rico. One       thing is for guaranteed, it's a creepy ghost that you shouldn't go trying to locate. The phantom of a civil war combatant can regularly be made out smoking a cigar up on the summit of Cuates Butte. In any event, it certainly is a scary ghost that should be shunned. The spirit of a seriously burned female may be perceived often in Tumacacori   National Monument at midnight reading a newsletter. The ghost of a man having a word carved into his nose has every now and then been perceived in the early morning hours before sunrise drifting by on Nogales Wash. The phantom of a critically mangled hunter dragging a dead wolf is every so often observed resting at a table in a Rio Rico trailer.
