In fact there was documentation in the local     paper years ago of Gordon Wheeler (police chief) being called late one night to reports of a woman wailing at the Santa Fe dam late one night. He heard the cries and was so disturbed he resigned shortly after the incident. This is a strange lil place do not let the mayberry feel of it fool you !.
