Most of the people who live here in Mancos, Colorado are merrily unaware of the horrible mysteries this city retains; some long gone people from former times have come back here. Ghosts are so common in this town; scores of residents don’t even fret about it any longer. Not everybody has faith in the descriptions the residents tell, but if you are bold enough to stay overnight in Mancos, you may very well observe a ghost for yourself.
These are some of the spooky things that have happened here recently.
The spirit of a gentleman clothed as a handy man came into view flinging boulders into the flowing water at Chicken Creek at the stroke of midnight. The ghost didn't care that there was somebody other present. A man who lives here declares that this ghost is the ghost of a visitor that was murdered while journeying through Mancos before the present.
The ghost of a man in a police outfit was perceived hauling a body over the grass in Mancos Wayside Park in the early morning hours. When the witness

The ghost of an elderly guy with a large gray beard was noticed in a metal boat on Puett Reservoir looking crossly at the bystander. The appearance of the observer startled the ghost who then vanished. Some of the people who live here assert this ghost is that of a person who lived here in Mancos many years ago.

woman with a machete sticking out of her head has regularly been observed howling at the watcher to stay away at A M Puett Dam before dawn. In any case, it without a doubt is a menacing spirit that any rational person would not want to encounter.
The ghost of a female with a plastic bag bound around her head is frequently observed pacing through a Mancos area cemetery.
A partially translucent guy clad as the skipper of a freight ship is rumored to have been seen on a few instances in Cox Canyon after midnight hollowing out a hollow. It has been said that this particular ghost gets pleasure from scaring unwise people who come trying to find ghosts in Mancos.
A big frightening ghost can repeatedly be noticed obliterating a bag in Mancos State Park right by the park headquarters.
