Mancos, Colorado Ghost Sightings - PAGE 3
(...continued from the previous page)|
Like I said I don't know if that is how she died but I have seen a shadowy figure in the bell tower on more than one occasion during my late night summer walks. I won't go on the school grounds late at night by myself.
I also worked in the Bauer house as a cleaning lady for a couple of months one summer and I fully believe that building is haunted as well. There were so many disturbances of cleaning supplies and other objects with no one in the house
but me and the owner.|

I used to live in Mancos. I know the high school is haunted. The 3rd floor is haunted by a young freshman who fell to his death climbing the rocks above the Mancos River (around the 1900's). Anyway he used to turn on the water faucets when the science classes were there.
Later when the library was there he would pull all the misfiled books and put them neatly on the corner of the librarian's desk. The Wrightsman Hotel (now it's a bed and breakfast) is haunted by a cowboy who disagreed with everybody (who was ''important'') politically.
He was from Ouray and came back to Mancos to get supplies, visit with friends whatever. There was one sentence written about him in the personals in the Mancos times.
