When I walk my dog out in our back pasture at night out at the bottom of Spring Creek road I can see a strange light in the direction of the black canyon that we've come to call the ''ghost light''. It's much larger than the blue lights you can see from the ranches up there and it's very erratic.
As you watch it it will get brighter and dimmer sometimes bright enough to almost hurt your eyes disappear and flicker randomly then disappear completely only to pop up a few minutes later. I looked at it from a different angle once and there appear to be two of them the second behaves like the first but it sometimes appears red.
It certainly doesn't look like any artificial light I've ever seen and it's in the middle of nowhere. It's always in exactly the same spot so it can't be headlights and a house light wouldn't act this way.

Comment by Jamie: I wonder if it's at all related to the light described by the one on hwy 50. Me and a couple of my friends had an encounter of the 3rd kind on flat top similar to that; it was a very bright light that appeared out of nowhere hovered over us even seemed to have a floodlight on us then just disappeared into thin air.
We never heard it come or go, it was just there. We were so scared we couldn't even begin to describe what happened !.

Comment by Jamie: Hi Ivy, I'm wondering if those lights are over a cemetery or body of water? I wish I remembered those roads leading to Rolly. It's definitely spooky and electromagnetic which is proof ghosts exist. A friend of mine died in a car accident not far from where you are describing, and the vehicle rests in a junkyard in the same area on the way to Black Canyon. Way scary. Montrose is phenomena hotbed like nowhere I've ever been.

Comment by Emily: Omg. Finally somebody else who seemly has experienced the same thing in apx the same place. Ivy, I have seen that light once I live by the Pour House. (the blue one, not the red. ) I have also heard what sounds almost like an air raid siren coming from that direction (Black Canyon).
It was faint but I got it on my phone and I even captured it shutting down / turning off. But I am most excited about Jaime's comment. 10 years ago a bluish/white light turned on above me and my boyfriend on top of a hill out in Rolly.
There was no sound, the light enveloped the whole car. It freaked me out so much I just started the car and took off; the light switched off the minute I started my engine. Jaime you didn't by chance look up and see the source did you?? Man I wish I had.

My bf is now passed so I have no witnesses to verify this encounter. So stoked to have run into somebody who has experienced the same.
