My dad had to go down to the breaker switch in what was like a cellar. The door was chained with a pad lock to keep kids from going in because it was dangerous. But when he went in there was a child in there my dad didn't think it was ghost he told my mom to call the police because he didn't know how long this child had been there but when he got     closer the child disappeared... Anyway the police came and thought my parents were nuts… there was almost daily activity it became so bad that we couldn't stay in the house anymore. My personal experience was I was only 2 or 3 and I remember to this day taking a nap in the middle of the day in my parents' bedroom. I woke because I felt a presence there and what I saw was a glowing white figure standing over me... I believe to this day it was my guardian angel because what my mother was experiencing was not a happy spirit.
