Fairfield, Idaho Ghost Tales When I was a young girl, my little brother and I were walking around by what is now The Wrangler that greets you when you first enter town. We walked a little farther and took a left turn and found ourselves on a very wide road. We had traveled here in our car before, but never on foot. As we were walking, we heard a high meowing noise, it sounded like a kitten and was coming out of one of the abandoned grain silohs, or a barn or somethings, it's been years, I can't remember exactly, but I do remember what happened next. When we walked in, we saw the back of a woman, she had long black hair, almost to her       hind-quarters. She was sitting on a railroad tie and crying. Her head was in her hands and she was just sobbing. As young children, we were taught that ghosts were not real, so we belived that she was   just a sad lady. I walked up to her and asked her what was wrong. She turned to me. Her face was rotted away, and it looked like she ha been a burn victim. She meowed, very loud, and I was frozen. My brother grabbed my hand and drug me away. He says he turned back and saw that she was gone. I had nightmares for years and years. The year was 1965. .
