Amargosa Valley, Nevada Ghost Tales Hello there. I am the Director of the library here in Amargosa Valley and I have a few ghost stories of my own to share with you. First of all -- the library is definitely haunted. I won't work there at night, especially, since things have a tendancy to fall of shelves and doors slam not to mention the cabinets open and close by themselves and have done this for awhile now. We believe that there are a few spirits who live in the library and around it, as we are only a couple of buildings over from the cemetary here in town. Another story, told by me from a local resident, is that of La Llorona. She is the crying woman who exists over by the country store (currently closed) and is crying and shrieking for her children ... Not sure as to what the story is on that, still it's an eerie place to go by at night. Additionally, there is a little girl in a white dress who apparently died while riding on a wagon train with her family. She is apparently buried at the crossroads (somewhere in the area) of Valley View and Farm Road       and can sometimes be seen running due West, in search of her family we believe. There is also a former hotel that is now a school for gifted students. On the top floor there is the spirit of an elderly man who died of a heart attack. On the bottom floor is the spirit of a man who was murdered, apparently, for not paying some money he owed. The   last spirit that I know about is that of the former owner of the Stateline Saloon. This place has character and I believe it is because she is still very strongly around. She's been known to sip martinis if they are left out for her. I think that pretty much sums it up for now. I am indeed writing a story about these and other sightings in beautiful but quaint Amargosa Valley. Most Sincerely, Erin.
