Aragon, New Mexico Ghost Tales


The daylight hours in Aragon, New Mexico are the same as daylight hours anywhere else, but this is a city where the undeparted march the lanes in the moonlight hours. The ghosts of this municipality don’t leave anyone unscared. Some locals argue there are no ghosts, but a trip to Aragon, New Mexico will make anybody believe.

The ghost of an old lady holding a revolver has from time to time been witnessed eating a carrot in Bear Canyon on a dark night.

The phantom of a waitress is sometimes witnessed floating down on Whiskey Creek before sunrise.

The ghost of an elderly Indian chief can occasionally be spotted after midnight struggling out of Fitzgerald Cienega soaked in slime. Many local residents allege this ghost is the stressed spirit of an old Aragon person who lived here.

A black cat that turned into a woman was spotted in Quemado Ranger District on a dark night hunting with a crossbow. Additional accounts of
 
    this ghost have been described.

The spirit of a youthful woman clad as a house keeper became visible on the top of Apache Mountain late at night glancing at the sight. This phantom is extremely active in this vicinity; there have been a handful of other reports of this individual phantom.
