The phantom of a waitress is sometimes witnessed floating down on Whiskey Creek before sunrise. The ghost of an elderly Indian chief can occasionally be spotted after midnight struggling out of Fitzgerald Cienega soaked in slime. Many local residents allege this ghost is the stressed spirit of an old Aragon person who lived here. A black cat that turned into a woman was spotted in Quemado Ranger District on a dark night hunting with a crossbow. Additional accounts of       this ghost have been described. The spirit of a youthful woman clad as a house keeper became visible on the top of Apache Mountain late at night glancing at the sight.
