Chimayo, New Mexico Ghost Tales During the daylight hours the local residents in Chimayo, New Mexico do their work just like anywhere else, but after dusk you may well perceive some terrifying things. Some of the passed away decline to rest in this municipality. Some local residents say there are no spirits, but there in fact are bloodcurdling things occurring here in Chimayo during the moonlight hours. One thing's for sure, this is an unpleasant ghost that is preferably not interrupted. A female with maggots crawling out of her nose was witnessed exploring La Caja in detail at midnight. Other folks close at hand have had similar occurrences involving a quite similar phantom. The ghost of a tied up lady was seen glugging down blood from a jar up on Mesa Borrego. This spirit is exceptionally active in this neighborhood; there have been a few other stories of this particular spirit. Local people claim that this ghost is the undeparted spirit of a former Chimayo local person. In any case, it's a chilling spirit that you wouldn't want to come across late at night. A woman carrying her head beneath her arm has often been noticed wandering in the middle of a deserted road next to Chimayo. The ghost of a guy having half his head not there is regularly made out having a hotdog in Chimayo Historical Marker at midnight. No matter what, it certainly is a creepy phantom that any reasonable person wouldn't wish to meet.
