Conchas Dam, New Mexico Ghost Tales

Here is a picture of what I think is a ghost in the dam. It is in the middle of the picture. It is easier to see if you zoom in and lighten the picture. - Ghost picture submitted by Mark Martinez

In the day you may very well think Conchas Dam, New Mexico is precisely identical to any other town, but there are odd things going on in this town during the dark hours. Statues slide about, words coming out of the dark. Not everyone has faith in the accounts the locals tell, but everyone who stays in Conchas Dam is not alive.

These are some of the spooky things that have happened here recently.

The ghost of an aged Indian chief was noticed up on Chical Mesa reading a magazine. The observer ran away when he noticed the spirit.

A black as coal crow that turned into a lady appeared before dawn scrutinizing Alamosa Canyon in detail. The ghost was unconcerned that there was someone else there. No matter what, it's a scary ghost that you shouldn't go seeking.

The ghost of a young-looking female outfitted as a maid was seen weeping in the center of Alamosa Creek. When the bystander became visible the ghost ran away.

The phantom of a down-and-out gentleman came into view staring in Conchas Lake State Park at the park headquarters. The ghost mumbled about avenging a murder.
