Fort Stanton, New Mexico Ghost Tales


During the daytime you may think Fort Stanton, New Mexico is exactly identical to any other city, but if you are easily startled, you'd best stay away from this town at night. Furniture slide about, noises out of the darkness. Several people who live here allege these reports are untrue, but with so many ghosts in Fort Stanton you have a reasonably good chance of noticing one if you stay for a few days in this place.

These are some of the spooky things that have happened here recently.

The spirit of a gentleman clad as a store clerk may often be witnessed screaming in Big Tank Canyon in the early morning hours.

The ghost of a guy wearing a police force outfit may be seen very frequently at Upper Rio Hondo Site One Dam late at night looking. Several of the people here allege this ghost is the ghost of a visitor that was killed while passing through Fort Stanton before the present.

The spirit of an old guy with a big white beard has sometimes been distinguished laundering a blood-splattered shirt in
 
    Deer Spring before sunrise. Any which way, this ghost sure is menacing; one that should be avoided.

The ghost of a gentleman in a military outfit is sometimes witnessed twinkling a light mid stream in Little Creek.

A medieval knight's armor with no human being inside has supposedly been witnessed on several instances in Capitan Historical Marker before dawn pulling a dead body across the dirt.
