One of the people who live here confidently says that this ghost is the ghost of a visitor that was murdered while passing through Quemado some time ago. The ghost of a seriously charred lady has been perceived on frequent occasions observing the vista from the highest spot of Cimarron Mesa after midnight. Anyhow, it's a menacing ghost that is better not messed with. The ghost of a man with words engraved into his foot may be noticed repeatedly on a dark night examining Cottonwood Canyon in detail.       In any case, it is in all certainty a chilling ghost that you do not want to run into late at night. The spirit of the driver of a train has every now and then been perceived in Mesita Blanca Wilderness Study Area in the early morning hours before sunrise appearing menacing. Some of those who live here claim this phantom is that of a local person   who existed here in Quemado some decades ago. Whatever folks say, this ghost sure is menacing; one that any normal person wouldn't wish to come across. The ghost of a dreadfully mangled hunter dragging a dead moose is now and then distinguished gardening in the back garden of a building in Quemado. One thing is for certain, this is a horrible ghost that should be avoided.
