Santa Clara, New Mexico Ghost Tales | |
|
When I was a small girl, the kids of the town used to tell me about the ''Oronna''. Legend tells that she was a young woman who was in love, her love died, and she died of a broken heart. Every time it rains, if you go down to the creek, you can hear her cries and see her stacking rocks. I didn't believe it, so I had to go down there, and sure enough, I heard the cries, and there was a stack of rocks neer the bank of the creek. The next day I went back to the same spot and the rocks were gone.. Submitted by Christine

The ghost of a pregnant woman can be observed very often gazing in Bayard Historical Marker late at night. In any case, it's without a doubt a bloodcurdling ghost that you shouldn't go trying to locate.
The ghost of a youthful guy in a winter coat has sometimes been made out after midnight examining Bayard Canyon in detail.
