Things go on around here that cannot be scientifically explained. Some locals assert these accounts are untrue, but if you have the nerve to stay for a few days in Shiprock, you may distinguish a ghost for yourself. These are some of the spooky things that have happened here recently. The ghost of a guy having the sign of the devil engraved into his nose was spotted studying Cottonwood Arroyo in detail at night. This ghost is enormously active in this area; there have been many additional stories of this exact ghost. The spirit of an awfully mangled huntsman hauling a dead coyote came into view in Hogback Historical Marker in the early morning hours before sunrise looking for a shoe. The observer ran off when she spotted the ghost.       Several of the people who live here say this spirit is the spirit of a visitor that was murdered while traveling through Shiprock many years ago. The ghost of a young-looking woman with a cord around her neck was noticed in Chinde Wash dining on a burger. The ghost was indifferent that there was somebody other present. It has been asserted that   this specific ghost is that of a person who existed here in Shiprock some time ago. A gentleman lacking a head was distinguished taking a rest on a sofa in a residence in Shiprock. The arrival of the viewer terrified the ghost who then vanished. In any event, it's a scary ghost that is rather not disrupted. The phantom of an elderly gold digger with a sizeable mustache and a wooden right leg is regularly seen smoking a pipe by a streetlight in Shiprock. No matter what, it's without a doubt a scary ghost that you would not want to bump into on a dark night. The ghost of an elderly female carrying a rifle has allegedly been noticed on one or two instances staggering from flat to flat before dawn on a Shiprock road. The spirit of a waitress can regularly be perceived searching through a cabinet in the bathroom of a Shiprock mobile home in the early morning hours. The ghost of an old Indian chief has from time to time been distinguished hauling a headbone in Aztec Ruins National Monument outside the park headquarters. According to the people who live here, this phantom likes scaring unwise people who are bold enough to interrupt the peace in Shiprock. One thing is for guaranteed, this ghost certainly is frightening; one that you shouldn't go trying to locate.
