We have heard people singing above the Community of the Kanosh Band of Paiutes, Kanosh, Utah. They (the old ones who've passed on) sing traditional Paiute songs. The singing seems to come from/around the Community Cemetary, which is located east of the Community, in the foothills of the mountains.

I pretty much grew up in Kanosh. I was fishing one aftenoon and had hiked up a tributary to Corn Creek. I was up in there about a mile and I had stumbbled apon a very old tree that had the name Cummings carved in it. It looked pretty fresh and so I kinda looked around for any bark on the ground. No sign so I just went back to fishing. A dark cloud came rolling in fast nothing out of the normal I just knew I had to get back to the campground as directed by my parents if a storm was to develop. I was walking at a pretty good pace because the lightning was getting bad and the wind was going crazy.

I all of the sudden stopped right in my tracks and every hair on my body was standing on end. All of the sudden I felt I was being dragged down the trail by my fishing vest. Pretty much hauling butt

but not under my own power. All of the sudden I was done moving and the biggest flash hit so close it had blinded me for a minute and my ears felt like they were ready to explode. When I finaly got my barrings I realised that a huge tree had just missed my feet. I never really told anyone out of fear my parents would not let me wander off fishing. Before my grandmother had passed I asked her about the name Cummings, It was her maiden name. I told her about the tree I had found. She let me know that was her little brothers favorite fishing spot. He died in a car wreck heading back to town after

fishing there when he was seventeen. He rolled his car and was found on the bank of Corn Creek.
