A number of people who live here declare these tales are not true, but Scipio is packed with stressed spirits just waiting to frighten you.

The spirit of a miner became visible gazing at people in a Scipio building through a keyhole. The ghost spoke of avenging a killing. In any event, it sure is a menacing ghost that any sensible person wouldn't want to encounter.
The ghost of a man clothed as a gas station attendant was noticed hauling a corpse from the chilly water of Round Valley Creek in the early morning hours. The watcher was frightened and ran away.
The phantom of a gentleman dressed in a police force outfit was made out trying to get cars to stop alongside a dark road outside Scipio. The ghost didn't seem to be concerned by the observers.
