Fairbanks, Alaska Ghost Tales As you drive down Chena Hot Springs Road, be very aware that the road in between miles 8 and 12 are haunted. It is said to have been haunted by a pair of ''haunted headlights'' that appear to be coming straight at you. But at the last second, dodge out of the way and vanish almost as if they haven't been there at all. Almost like playing ''chicken'' with a ghost car. I also have several friends that live on that road and they have reported some strange things happening in their houses too. Submitted by Mikey       Categories: road, lights, cars We moved onto Fort Wainwright in October of 2002. Our house was in Birchwood at the end of Erwin Court. We'd been in the house for a couple of months before anything strange happened. My husband, kids, and I were all in bed for the night and I was woke up by someone tapping on my left leg. I opened my eyes expecting it to be my 2 year old daughter wanting to get in bed with us but there was no one there. We had our t.v. downstairs go off on it's own       more than once. My husband and I both heard little footsteps coming down the stairs and expecting to see our daughter and when we went to look there was no one there. We even went up to check on the kids and they we sound asleep. I was asleep one night, my husband was on night shift and I was the only one in bed. I woke up to the sound of someone saying   WHAT in my ear and in such a strong way that I could feel breath on my ear. It gave me a cold shiver down my spine, I didn't sleep well the rest of the night. The last big thing that happened before we PCS'd in April 2006 scared me to death. It was a cold and snowy night, and my husband was on night shift patrol. I had the front screen door latched and door closed as well as the back door. My kids were upstairs playing while I went and got a shower. I got dressed, wrapped up my hair and started down the stairs. When I got to the last step I immediately noticed that my front door was open and the screen was unlatched. My dog was sitting right at the front door and wouldn't move. I called up to my kids to get downstairs, called my husband (he's and MP), got them and the dog together, closed the front door and bolted into the garage and left the house. I met my husband at the entrance to the neighborhood and he and the other patrol car behind him raced over to the house. I made them go through every room, closet, and bathroom before I would step foot back inside. The didn't find a thing! I still don't know what happened with that. I was extremely happy when we moved out.
