The Pioneer Park Civic Center is extremely haunted. I've been a volunteer at several charity events, and during set up and breakdown many incidents have occurred. Most of the activity is centered on the 3rd floor where the gallery is located. On more than one occasion I have found one of the doors up there open after gallery hours, after staff has locked up and left. Most of the activity is noise based - whispers, breathing, and even scratching.
The elevator in the building, which remains still during the day unless the call button is pushed, runs constantly at night. At one point while setting up for a charity show, I witnessed the 3rd floor call button light activate by itself. When the elevator arrived, the doors opened and closed repeatedly. Maintenance could find no malfunction. After hours one can also hear the sound of footsteps echoing off of the tile floor in the exhibition hall and indistinct whispers in the auditorium.

Comment by Freaked out in Fairbanks: I was at a wedding one night at the civic center. I was on the second floor in the bathroom. I went to wash my hands and the soap dispenser, which is motion activated by sticking your hand under, started dispensing soap all over the sink counter. Funny... Not funny it was the dispenser at the other sink. The one I wasn't standing at. The experience prompted me to google civic center ghost which brought me to this link.

About a year ago I lived in a small house on 2nd avenue. The house is very old and was said to be built around the 1940s or 50s. I lived there with some friends who were pretty easily spooked and I didn't believe them when they said they thought the place was haunted, but unexplainable things started happening like walking in the kitchen; with the lights off you could see a white light move past the window. I could see it even when sitting in the living room looking into the kitchen, but just as soon as it came it was gone. The temperature would drop all of a sudden but only in one seat in the living room.
