Alleghany, California Ghost Tales | |
|
|
I've been to Alleghany many times mostly during the summer seasons to visit family and friends. I've been spooked twice in that town, once during the day and once at night. Alleghany being a small town has a bar, restaurant, school gym (now the 16 to 1 jewelry office) burned down school house, Mansion and old court house (now a residence) old hospital (also a residence) small fire department and a few houses. One day when I was 16 live'n with my mother during summer break I was play'n war craft on a computer upstairs, my mother at work and my step dad outside splitting wood with a new hydraulic power'd

wood splitter. The house I stayed in was very old and has wood floors, most of the floor covered with carpet. But the floors are very creaky. Well, I was upstairs when I though I heard someone enter the

house walking down the indoor porch into the kitchen then into the dining room next to the stair case, into the living room then into my room and straight to the bathroom shutting the door to the bathroom. I figured my mother came home from work to use the restroom because she worked across the street as a jeweler for 16 to 1 at the old school gym. So I call out for my mom for a reason I cant remember but I did not get a response. I called out for her a few more times but no response. I get up and start down the stairs calling for Dan my step dad and still no response. I walk to my room and see the bathroom

door was open. I know who ever walked in didn’t leave because I would've heard whoever it was walk out, and I could've swore that I heard the door shut because the door is old and sticks, so you have
to muscle it shut and open. I walk out the house a bit weird out and asked Dan if he came into the house but he gave a simple response, ''No!'' without much concern. At that point I knew I didn’t want
to go back inside and I was going to go ask my mother if she came home to use the bathroom. Come to find out she been swamped with work and didn’t come to the house at all. Then and there I was freak'n
out and explained what I heard in the house. Her response to that was ''The house is old, it makes weird noise's from time to time!'' Yeah right... I was never comfortable in that house ever again. There's
more ghost stories that go with the house but they are not my own. Another account was when I got a job with my mother working in the jewelry department with the 16 to 1 mine. On a late night preparing
for the fair aka stockholders meeting I was using a new digital camera taking pictures of jewelry and adding the photos to a simple brochure we were making. Well I ended up starting to play with it and
started taking pictures of myself and my mother polishing jewelry and cutting cab's. It was starting to get fun when I started going over some pictures and found one that had my mother in it. But in the
window there looked like a little girl wearing a dress walking by the door which was a full window door. It seamed creepy and I kept the photo for as long as I could but considering I had it on an external
and that external been to many of places it broke and the data on it was irrecoverable. So yeah, alleghany is one creepy small town which has alot of history. If you wanna hear some ghost story's
or see some sightings of your own, stop by there and chat with the locals in the bar. They'll tell you some stories. And of course the mansion there is infamous for ghost encounters. The going rate for
staying in the mansion for one night is 2000 dollars. That'll be the place to go if you want to see some really creepy stuff... Submitted by Robert
