There were two bedrooms upstairs which I had to myself and at that time all of the activity was limited to the the area closest to the grocery store. I can still remember my father cussing as he climbed a ladder to prune every Branch of that tree so it wouldn't rub the roof and windows anymore     because he was sure that was what I was hearing. Every night for years I heard the scratching and crying of a child coming from that small crawl space/closet.... Finally moving down to the living room Couch and completely giving up my bedroom. Yes an exorcism was held and was publicized in the Atwater signal. And from what I understand the House is still there - March 2011.
