Years later, whenever a tenant moved out, my parents returned to the house to clean it up. We kids would accompany them on occasion. The other kids in the neighborhood would tell us the house was haunted. Evidently, there were other stories. I am fifty-six years old now and still remember my experience very vividly. I have driven past the house and have been tempted to stop and talk to the current owners, but decide against it every time.

We lived in a house on 219th Place built in 1945 off of Alameda Street. The home was bought as a fixer and foreclosure. When I closed escrow we started to paint and modernize the house. It had those wooden windows, and my sister was helping me paint. We were in the same room, and we stopped for a small break and were talking. All of a sudden we witnessed the sandpaper on the window sill start to move as if someone was sanding. Then it fell on the floor and kept moving like someone was trying to unfold the sheet. We looked at each other and left that room immediately. After that I was taking wall paneling off the walls and tossing it on the patio out the back door. It was late. As I tossed the paneling out, and I spotted a man coming across the yard and walk out the gate, but the gate was closed. He went right through it. He looked like maybe he was from the 1960s with bell bottoms, pork chop sideburns, and long hair. I saw that ghost on a regular basis.
After we had moved in we could see a shadow in the kitchen from our bedroom from the light on the digital stove. We saw a shadow, and it sounded like someone tossed all the Tupperwares on the floor. I got up to investigate. Nothing was out of place. Another common occurrence was we would hear a baseball game at about 3 or 4 am. The sound would come through the heater vents in my bedroom. Another thing that would happen nightly was my six-year-old daughter's stuffed animals and dolls would end up in the center of the bedroom, and from that room you could see the living room. I would sit at the computer late at night, and you could feel someone watching you, but everybody was asleep. Shortly after we had moved in I was digging in the back yard, and I pulled my back out and was in bed. Nobody was home, and it was getting dark. I kept seeing a shadow in the hallway. I kept watching, and a little girl maybe eight years old in a nighty and with long brown curly hair kept peeking around the door into my bedroom. I saw her do this about five times, so I got up, and there was nobody in the house just me.
I told my wife about this when she got home, and she said she had seen the little girl also. She did not want to tell me because she felt like she was just seeing things, and she thought maybe it was just her imagination. I asked the neighbor across the street. She told me a girl had died in my house. She told me to speak to a girl two doors down, and she confirmed an eight-year-old girl had died. She was her best friend who had died a few years back. This neighbor was eighteen years old when I talked to her. They were both eight at the time. The girl had her nightgown get caught on the bunk bed, and unfortunately she was hanged. That really was eye opening. We lived with the little girl spirit until we moved. She played with toys every night.
