Custom Search Courtland, California Ghost Sightings Courtland PAGE 1   2     After dusk there was a tremendous flapping of wings on the top of a pear tree. I sat outside watching but not knowing at first it was a bird or what kind. Then I saw the wings which were bigger then any bird I've ever seen and must have been an Eagle or large owl. An owl sat on a nearby Telephone and cooed at times. We watched in horror as the thing (too large for normal) appeared to try to take off but could not and     eventually fell down. I went to look for it but was afraid to venture into the orchards alone. No trace was found.
