Cupertino, California Ghost Tales | |

One beautiful,quiet summer afternoon,I went to our local Longs to pick up a couple of things. As I entered the front door, I took a cart then stopped for a moment to fucus on my mental list. At that moment, I saw a very beautiful older lady pushing an empty basket move down the transversal isle in front of me. As I focussed on her, I was amazed at her for many reasons. She was quite petite and wore a very fitted suit in light beige, she wore a hat that was a little ''cloche'' and her whole impression was that she had just came out of the 40's! She moved on and I refocussed on that mental list of mine. When all of the sudden, there she was going back again in the same direction where I had just seen her go by. I was quite surprised, because I could not imagine that she would have had enough time to turn that corner and then go around to where she was now. She had visible make up on. She had a faint smile on her lips and looking towards her left (which would be the front of the store) she looked up towards the window...and the direction of

her gaze would be towards the blue sky. At some moment, I found myself in front of her, looking back towards her and being totally mesmerized by her. She looked at me and I said ''Sorry to be staring at you,but you are very beautiful''. To my surprise, instead of the expected surprise and shy ''thank you'' I expected, she said to me in a coquetish

way ''It must be the chapeau''. Now, I'm really curious about her, since no one talks like that in remont...except me! Hoping to strike a conversation with her, I quipped ''Oh no, it's the 'tailleur'!'' Instead of being engaged by my cleaver repartie, she simply, sweetly smiled and moved on around the next isle, pushing her empty cart. Recovering from my stupor, I went around looking for her...there was no one else in the store at that moment but a checker and myself! And he had not seen any one of my description! I know without a doubt that she was a ghost!.

Cupertino, California seems equal to any other zone in America, but when the darkness of nighttime commences; things become terrifying. Ghosts are so routine around here; lots of folks who live here don’t even think about it anymore. Doubters don't trust in the local ghost tales, but the undead souls of Cupertino are all too real.
