Dixon, California Ghost Tales My family and I moved into an old home in the old town of Binghampton, CA, (which many years ago was incorporated and renamed as part of Dixon, CA). On our first night in the home, I went to bed a little earlier than my husband and children, my door closed. Just as I began to dose off to sleep, when I was very relaxed and very comfortable I felt something quickly grab my shoulder with GREAT force. I have had non troubling ghostly experiences throughtout my life, but nothing quite like this. What or who ever this entity was was evil or very angry. I know this because the feeling I received was overwhelming. I jumped from a lying down position and was out my bedroom door in one leap. I immediately went back into the room, turned my back on where in the room I felt the spirit would be and TOLD it how unwelcome it was and (so to speak) cast it out. I immediately began looking throught the room inch by inch praying to find a VERY large spider or rat in hopes of another explanation but found nothing. I was never bothered or felt another presence again.       I later spoke with a neighbor who used to live in the same house and she too had minor experiences but was non descriptive. I later found out that the old historic cemetary for the town of Binghampton (head stones made of some sort of sandstone, most of which are gone due to weather) is only about 200 yards down the road. I have since spread wild flower   seeds around the large headstone that years back was placed there with the names of all who rest in the historic Binhampton cemetary which was made to honor the non living who rest there because most headstones are no longer standing. Submitted by Cindy One could think that there's nothing out of the ordinary concerning Dixon, California, but the spirit descriptions disclosed by the locals are enough to make anyone reassess stopping by in this town. There have been a lot of happenings with spirits from another world. Not everyone has faith in the tales the local residents tell, but everyone who dwells in Dixon is not alive. These are some of the spooky things that have happened here recently. The ghost of an awfully mangled huntsman dragging a dead deer is sometimes spotted in Dixon May Fairgrounds after midnight going wild. The ghost of a youthful lady with a rope around her neck has been spotted on one or two occasions staring at people in a Dixon flat through a peephole. An incredibly scary ghost can once in a while be made out at the stroke of midnight floating along on Dickson Creek. Some of the residents argue this ghost is the ghost of a visitor that was murdered while journeying through Dixon long ago.
