In 1982 I had an apartment on W. Imperial Avenue. One night I awoke from a sound sleep to see a man standing over my bed, just looking at me. He was wearing a tan t-shirt and light blue corduroy pants. I remember thinking he was built like my dad, about 5'9'' and muscular. He just watched me as I pretended to sleep, while my heart beat out of my chest! My eyes were just barely open as I wanted him to think I was sleeping. I thought he was an intruder and was there to hurt me. Suddenly, he started to walk away from my bed and out of my room. Then a light went on outside my bedroom window, and he turned around to look as if he was startled. He then just kept walking.
I waited a few minutes, then grabbed my keys, unlocked the deadbolt with my key, and flew out of my apartment, locking the door behind me. The next day my boyfriend and I went back with my sister and her fiancÚ. We checked all the windows and sliding glass doors. The windows were locked. The sliders were locked and had wooden dowels in the tracks. The front door had remained locked. To this day I believe I was visited by a spirit, as there was no way a person could have left my apartment without leaving a window or door unlocked.
The next morning, I went to breakfast with a friend who lived upstairs in another apartment. As I told him what happened, he told me that one of his ex-roommates once awoke to a noise in her closet and shoes being thrown at her bed. She turned on the light, and there were shoes scattered around the room, but nobody was there.
I have other stories that happened to me when I lived on Main Street. I will post those in a separate blog.

In the spring of 2016 I was at the Purple Orchid Bar on Richmond Street in El Segundo. The building was built in the 1920s. It was early evening and I was standing in the back near the bathrooms with a friend.
As we were talking suddenly behind my friend a pint glass flew off a narrow ledge and broke on the ground. The bartender came running from behind her bar with a broom and dust pan she said ''don't worry this happens all the time'' I replied ''the glass flew off the ledge is this building haunted? '' with a smile she says ''some people think it is'' does anyone have any experiences here or have had heard of any weird stories about the building?? I'm so curious.
