Comment by Gorn: There used to be an animal shelter there that burned down. Majority of the dogs and cat perished in the fire. I've experienced this as well. My dog was freaking out; acting like a baby and he never acts like that. Soon as we got back in the car he went back to being himself.

Go to the historical society of your city. Every city has one. They would have information if any major events happened in your area. There is a lot of history for your city and the general area. Look up too the route of the Mormon settlers travelling from Utah to San Diego.
There is a visitors center in old town San Diego that talks about the Mormon trails. You never know that neighborhood of yours could have had something happened. Also that area used to be part of Mexico before the U.S. acquired it.|
