Comment by Me: Odd, but if there is a ghost in the house it might be friendly... Like when it helped the mom so she would not fall. Don't let it scare you, it's a visitor, and try be polite to your guest. It would scare me too but if it's nice it shouldn't be to horrific.

Comment by Kayla: This is all really cool. I hope it all works out for you and your family!.

Comment by Denise: The next time you hear the growl try talking to it. Tell it that you really like the house and want to live in peace and that they are welcome to visit. You may also try saging the house. This entails burning sage bundles and saying blessings in each room of the house.
In my various experiences with ghosts and residual hauntings both of these things have worked well for me. Animals can also stay somewhere they felt safe and loved. You did not say whether the growl sounded human or animal.
Talking calmly should still help. I know when you are being growled at it is difficult not to be scared but remember they may be more scared of you then you are of them.

The old bank, I walked in and a middle aged woman asked me for a shawl and that she was cold and lived upstairs. She then walked away.. I told the lady at the desk and I hope she got this ghost a shawl.
2. I continued to tour the old bank/museum and a little Chinese girl stated she was hungry and wanted some rice and did not feel well and missed home, she too a ghost left going to the back area. I again told the lady at the desk...
