There was a house I used to live in when I was a teenager. It was just right off of Waterman Boulevard, and it was in the Cedar Brooke Street neighborhood. We were told by one of our neighbors that there was a murder there before we moved in. I would feel the worst presences every time I went in there. It was as if a million eyes were on me all the time. I would hear recurring footsteps and walking around upstairs. I heard human noises (sometimes I heard nonhuman noises in the house), and I saw several entities in there. One day my whole family had gone out, and I stayed home alone. My room was the only bedroom downstairs. I heard someone walking around above me in my mom's room, so I ran out and stayed in the driveway and called some of my relatives to tell them what had happened. One of my aunts gave me the confidence to go back in. As I went inside, I heard heavy footsteps coming down the stairs. Of course I ran back out and waited for my family to come home two hours later. We searched the house after I had told them what had happened. We did not find anyone in there. There was a tall concrete wall in our backyard, so the only way out was through the front if anyone was in the house.
When I started seeing ''things'', it was not so pretty. I would see these tall dark figures. They looked like a silhouette of some sort, and they were transparent. When I kept them in my sight, they would fade away in the next three seconds. One summer day, I was babysitting with my friend and her mom. We were upstairs watching a movie when all of a sudden the double doors were trying to push open by some force outside in the hall. Armed with a hammer we hid under my mom's bed. We later opened the door to check, and right when we opened the door, we heard a bunch of noises. We figured out that those noises were the sound of all the doors in the house closing. The chandelier that was in the stairway was rocking back and forth too. Then it got mysteriously cold despite the hot summer day it was. It was so cold we were all getting goose bumps. One morning when I was being driven to summer school by my mom she asked me if I had noticed anything weird at home. I admitted to her everything that had happened. It turned out that she had experienced the same thing too. She said she had seen a man walk right through my window and into my room like it was transparent. She also heard and saw house furniture being moved around.
My mom told me that we are ''special'', meaning we have an ability unlike other people. We can hear, feel, and see things other people cannot. I wonder how long it has been since my mother and I have been able to see things other people cannot see. After staying three years at that house, we moved. Of course, paranormal records state that moving out of a haunted house will not make things better. However, I think the spirits got tired of staying with us. When I was sixteen, I think the spirits had gotten to me through my dreams. I would have continuous nightmares about my town every time I was asleep. What was even stranger, I would see things from my dreams when I was awake. I saw them at home, at school, and everywhere.
Now I am twenty. I live on Barbour Street that borders with Waterman. I understand why so many of the buildings around here are haunted. In this part of Fairfield there used to be a lake. When the lake dried up, the Native Americans used this land as a burial ground because of the soft ground. Now Fairfield has built houses over this mass graveyard. The house next to us is famous on our street as the most violently haunted house in our neighborhood! I found out that there are new people living in that house. I wonder if the ghosts in that house are still there, and if the people are experiencing anything like we did. .

Comment by Mercy: Sorry to say you guys are not that special anybody can see and hear them. Especially if the ghosts want you to. And you seeing things at home you let the ghosts get to you. But I think Waterman was something a long time ago because the other houses near Waterman or Mankas are also haunted.
