French Camp, California Ghost Tales There are numerous ghosts surrounding S.J. Hospital and the county jail.  I used to drive a bus, and had to put gas in it at the sheriff dept. When I was going out to the main road, I had someone who looked like a person ask for a ride, when I turned back to answer, the person vanished in to thin air, and there was no place for this person to go!. Submitted by CC I saw a man,from the 1800's, early 1900's, hoverring over my bedroom door in the middle of the night, I was awaken by an extreme brush of wind hitting my face. I saw his formation gleamed with light, staring at me, I could see through       him, I asked what he wanted, cause I was terrified, and his formation put his hand out to me and tilted his head, and I instantly felt overwhelmed with comfort. I'll never forget that experience! That   was 9 years ago..... The ghosts of this city don’t leave anyone unterrified. Folks who have never spent a night in this city will tell you it's all just superstition, but anybody who has spent a night in French Camp, California knows better. These are some of the spooky things that have happened here recently. A moderately see-through man outfitted as the skipper of a ship can frequently be perceived by Duck Creek conversing into the night. A large frightening phantom can be seen very often near the water at Weber Point reading a book. The phantom of a youthful man sporting a confederate uniform has once in a while been made out on the shore of McLeod Lake looking for a woman. A number of of the people who live here declare this ghost is that of a local person who had a house here in French Camp many years ago. One thing is for certain, this ghost indisputably is terrifying; one that you do not want to come across before dawn. The phantom of a shackled up man is from time to time spotted at Port of Stockton very late at night carrying a skull.
