Whatever people state, it is unquestionably a frightening phantom that any commonsensical person wouldn't want to come across. An incredibly frightening ghost was observed scaring folks up on the highest spot of Anderson Mountain. There are further tales on the subject of this ghost in   the area. One thing is for certain, this is a bad ghost that should be let alone. The spirit of an elderly lady holding a rifle came into sight shouting names of people down beside Bill Allen Spring late in the night. Many stories of this ghost have been reported. The ghost of an aged Indian chief materialized hauling a body from the chilly water of Van Loan Creek before dawn. Other folks close at hand have had matching occurrences with an identical ghost. It has been argued that this exact ghost loves frightening foolhardy people who come seeking ghosts in Madeline.
