Needles, California Ghost Tales I grew up in Needles. As a very small child i lived in a house on bailey ave. We had many experiences there. As i was still in a crib most of the things i'm going to share have been told to me by my mother, grandmother, and other people who spent any time in that house.....one morning i woke up with a mark across my face(it looks as if someone had taken a curling iron and laid it across my cheek)and within a few hours the mark disappeared. I would be sitting in our living room and suddenly stop playing and turn my head to look down the hallway to my bedroom as if watching someone. At first my family thought i had an imagenary friend. I called it the old goo. I would talk to it and it all seemed harmless. Then things started happening that didn't seem so harmless. One night a babysitter was sleeping over at the house. She was awoken from a dead sleep by the bed shaking. She left that night and never came back to the house. A family friend was sleeping on the couch and she woke up to what she thought was me playing and laughing. When she opened       her eyes to tell me to please keep it down she saw a little girl wearing an old fashioned white lace dress. She screamed and the little girl disappeared. Soon i became scared and would not go into my room. My grandfather took me in there and asked me where the old goo was. I pointed to a teddy bear and they got rid of it. Nothing ever happened again.   Needles has such a history that it is almost impossible to believe more people don't have experiences there. My best friend recently moved into the old house on bailey which my family still owns and rents to her. She has had no experiences and neither have i but i can't help wondering if my old friend will make an appearance some day. I spent most of my time walking at night as to clear my head of certain troubles I have, but more to the point. I was walking home and it was around 11:25-35? PM, when I heard the most inhuman shriek that could be heard from afar. Terrified of and not the investigating type I, with as much haste as possible, made my way back home. I told my uncle about it and he told me about a old women who at night walks? around the village. All he's told me was to be careful when walking alone at night and avoid any strange characters. Also a cousin of mine was at a funeral. The service was held in the village and the traditions is to mourn all night and sing Indian songs. He went outside to get some air. When he was standing outside alone, he heard a shriek from across the village. He said that is sounded like it was originating from the river. .
