When I was 6-8 years old we lived in a house on a hill just down from a diner and market. The house we rented was owned by a red haired man in prison. He was known in town as a magician and had a lot of his magic stuff in the attic.
He had a huge mirror in the bedroom that I swore I could see another room inside of. We had friends over often to stay the night and we'd joke about the loud sounds of running and chains being dragged about in the attic at night.

I believe true magic had been done and spirits thrived very much alive there.

Comment by Denise: Is this place you speak of in the back of the hill under a restaurant, where the upstairs is facing the main road in Northfork and the apartment is below the restaurant/sandwich shop only accessible from the back side of the shop? I have some stories about that place.

I used to work the overnight shift as a certified nurse asst and boy was it creepy. One night we were checking on the clients and we heard a crying outside. There was a nurse image from back in the 1900s and she was crying, talking to herself about the children dying.
I never went back up there... Someone else has to know about it.
