Comment by anonymous: My parents' house and some family members have always had their houses that way. They are all Catholic so I think it's just what their religious beliefs are. I think it's to not let evil spirits enter a room.

I went to go hang out with some friends at Central Jr. High School (Now closed) around 10:00 PM. One of the windows were open and my friends and I decided to go inside one of the buildings. We went inside and discovered it was the band room.
We were all really surprised that there was still an instrument there, a Tuba. I learned how to play Tuba in Middle school but at Hillview Jr High. I attempted to play but it wouldn't work. I decided I should take it to a music shop, but It was heavy so I decided to tell my friends to come pick it up the next day with me.|
As we left about 200 feet we heard music and it came from the band room and it sounded like a tuba. We ran back, just to find out that the Tuba was NOT there.
What shocked me more was that when I attempted to play tuba it wouldn't work. Central used to be a Camp for the US Army during world war 2. It is said that the ghost of 'Billy' died there of starvation because he was left alone in a room locked.
