I lived in a house on Mona Drive in Placerville for several years and always felt a very eerie vibe there. I always felt sort of a paranormal presence. I felt I was being watched, and I had a few experiences. My bedroom had a sliding glass door, and I would often see shadows of figures walking through the cracks of the shades in the moonlight. The neighbors were fairly far away, and it would be very late when it happened, so it couldn't have been them.
There were also some instances of things falling down randomly or things turning themselves on like the stereo, while I had been home alone for over eight hours. There were also a few situations of door knobs shaking. Nothing major happened, but there was always an odd feeling at times when I lived there even though I enjoyed it. Just wondering if anyone is familiar with this neighborhood and knows if anything's happened in the area or had any experiences.

In about 1993, I was walking down the main street of Placerville towards a plaza at which sits an old fashioned general store when my eye was caught by a man standing at the edge of the plaza on the street side (away from the store) who appeared to be dressed in a 19th century period cowboy costume. I immediately thought, boy, that guy looks really authentic. He was a big, strapping guy, all dusty as from a long day working, with a bandana around his neck and wearing a checked shirt, leather cowboy boots and old, worn leather chaps that covered his legs; he was long-haired, unshaven and unusually rough and tough-looking for the 1990s, in a manner I can't quite describe; let's just say I think your average biker would give him a wide berth.
Besides this, he was standing right at the edge of the plaza and looking out in a strange way that one could not describe as ''down the street'' because his gaze was too high, but not really at the sky either; he didn't seem to be looking at anything, just ''out'' in a sort of puzzled, wondering way. In other words, he seemed strangely unattached to his surroundings, kind of isolated. Nobody else seemed to see him, or look at him. Something distracted me and I looked away for just a second. When I looked back, the man was gone. It was very strange.
