Riverside, California Ghost Tales    The picture pretty much explains itself. June 23rd 2008 around 2-3 am. 11 friends including me were goofing off at a 24 hour starbucks in moreno valley (california) and took a picture of a male friend in makeup. Later we realized what else, or shall I say who else was in this picture... - Ghost picture submitted by Anastasia I once lived in downtown riverside, near university ave. And Kansas ave. I was about 11 years old at the time when we moved into a 3br 2bth home. From the stories the neighbors told me the house was once a mortuary in the early 1900. I researched it and found out that the house was built in the year 1915. Although I never could find out if it was indeed a mortuary I certainly believed the stories! As you walked into the front room there's a large closet mounted onto the wall. It was about 5-6 inches off the ground not like a normal room closet. It was built out side of the wall, not into it . It almost looked as though as if you could actually pull it out of the wall. There was a neighbor living in the back duplexes that told my family and I that before we moved in he took a look at the house for the owner to fix the plumbing in it. (him being a professional plumber and all) so anyways he seen that the closet was not intact and actually seen stairs going down under the house. The plumbing was unlike any other pipe system. Giving a chilling       thought of fact behind the stories. Oh and so much paranormal activity took place in that house that I don't even know where to start. Noises, scary figures and all. I believe that since downtown riverside is so old it is very much haunted. Take a tour for your self. The mission in, the old cemetery off of 14th st. And all of the old Victorian styled   houses!. I was following what I thought was another employee going out of the main gate, but when I got there the gate was locked. I turned around to go back to the other gate when I heard this weird staticky noise by the log ride, it got louder and louder then it screamed something at me. I took off running and on the train tracks I saw a ghastly white figure running along side me fast as hell. I almost started crying when I found my supervisor. When I told the other employees about it they said they had seen similar things. It's like a woman in white. I did some research and found out that the park is built on an old indian burial ground. Submitted by Darrell       Categories: burial_ground, lady, park In 1990 through 1997 I lived on Gould Street near Norte Vista High, my family and lived in what were named Date Palm Apartments (they since have changed the name).?? I do not know when all these events began but I do know I first started hearing voices call me.? At first I thought it was my imagination but as time progressed it became more frequent.? I began to think it was my mother or some one in the apartment call me, every time it turned out to be no one.? During the summer I would stay home alone my mother and father worked and my brothers were in elementary attending school.? I would hear doors slam, and would feel uneasy during the day.? I could hear the door open and knocking on the door when there was no one there.? With in a year the ghost would start manifesting itself in different ways.? My bed would shake at night, there were sounds on scratching on the carpet, things in the apartment would start moving with out being touched.? My younger brother at the time was around six or seven years old he began to wake up in the middle on the night wanting to leave the apartment because he said some thing was following him.? What ever it was it wanted us out!? Since it wasn't getting what it wanted it began to manifest in shadow form.? I would be brushing my hair and I could catch a glimpse of this shadow from the mirror.? Once at night when I was getting ready to go to sleep a transparent form appeared in front of me all I could see was an out line of it and in the middle of where the body should have been it looked much like when you looking through water.? I was very afraid I put the covers over my head leaving my left hand uncovered.? I felt it touch me and it sent chills up my spine, I forced myself asleep the night.? After years of leaving there I learned to ignore it. Now that I no longer reside there I wonder if the new tenants are going through the same experience.
