I awoke around 1:30am and went to the kitchen to get a ''midnight snack''. So I got my snack in the silent hours of the night, moving carefully in the almost dark room trying not to wake my sleeping mom and sister. So I got my snack, and stumbled back into my bedroom. I laid down next to my sister and closed my eyes. I don't know why; but I opened them back up and to my surprise I saw a man hovering over my mom and staring     right at me with cold dark eyes that pierced me. I slammed my eyes shut and threw my head under the covers. I breathed silently, scared to death. I kept my hand over my mouth in disbelief. My body was trembling. I stayed put under the covers for way more than 30 minutes I was that scared. I couldn't get that man's face out of my head. I was also scared to look, in case he was still there. So I pinched my sister, instantly waking her up. Her cries woke my mother up, who was mad. I emerged from under the covers to see that the man was gone.
