I was living in Massachusetts at the time. We did the usual tourist things including a visit to alcatraz. It was an overcast Day but beautiful to us poor east coasters (no snow! ) we went through on a tour and were standing by what we later learned was the barber shop area. Mind you it was broad Day light and about 100 people were milling about. To my     left I saw a Young Man with longish hair hanging in his eyes with a large flat janitor-type broom sweeping the floor and I quickly jumped out of the way as the broom was headed for my feet---as if he wasn't aware of me. After jumping out of the way I realized that there was no one there! I walked up to my son to Tell him (i was shaking) when I saw him Reading a sign that said that this area was the prison barber shop---the Guy I saw was probably a residual haunt still sweeping up the hair.
