San Juan Bautista, California Ghost Tales I used to live on 1st ST in sjb and I used to hear the voice of a male and female very often, and hear shingles crackling like if some one was walking on the roof in the back room. And one night I saw what looked to be eyes and a mouth on the cielling.  Later my uncle had told me that there was the spirit of a male and female. The house was built in 1933, and the original owner had died in the house. The spirit of an old gold digger with a sizeable       mustache and a hook instead of his hand is rumored to have been spotted on one or two occasions peeping through apartment windows in San Juan Bautista before dawn. No matter what, this is a hostile ghost that you shouldn't go seeking. The spirit of a flight attendant was noticed by Carnadero Creek hurling chunks of concrete. This precise ghost   has been seen repeatedly in this neighborhood. The spirit of an elderly Indian chief appeared piling boulders up on the pinnacle of Flint Hills. There are other accounts concerning this spirit in the vicinity.
