sound booth. We stupidly made fun of them.
That night everyone's performances went smoothly until it came to the other performer's set, the one I had been joking with. She got out there with her acoustic guitar, hooked the guitar to the amp, and started playing. Toward the end of her second song, someone started messing with the amp backstage. It would go up extremely high then turn down very low. At the end of her last song, the amp fell over

on its own.
We were creeped out, but I was next, and I had to go on. Like the previous performer, my first song was just fine. Toward the beginning
|
of the second song, my backing track turned all the way down. I looked up at the sound guy, who looked confused and started messing with the switchboards frantically. We finally got it back on track ,and I finished my set.
After the show was done, the sound guy informed me that the volume button had never moved, and he could not figure out why the music had been muted. I think we had upset the ghosts so badly that they wanted to mess up our performances
