I was raised in Westport and lived there until I was 17. I never heard the story of the lady and the boy. My time in Westport was 1933 to 1950. The only so called haunted house at that time was just down the hill from the old school. As kids we would sneak up to the house and scream, and sometimes an old hobo would run out. We would be scared to death. Other than that Westport was very free of ghosts from what I remembered.|

I went with my family on a vacation to Westport California, and we stayed at a vacation rental house by the beach. When we got there the first night the house immediately felt weird and haunted, but we went to bed convincing ourselves that it wasn't haunted. That night I had decided to stay in the same room as my soon-to-be stepsister, and we stayed in the triangle room in the attic. The attic did seem like an add-on in the first place. We closed the door, and we turned on the heater.
We were talking while lying in our beds when the door slowly opened wide until it was touching the wall. Kylie (my friend) got up knowing she had just closed the door twenty minutes before it opened. She closed it and later lay back down in the bed across from me. We went to bed frightened that night and convincing ourselves we would be fine.
The second day was fun we went down to the beach, went to the store, and just spent time having fun that day. We were all watching a movie and having popcorn and ice cream together on the scattered couches and on the floor wrapped up in blankets when Kylie's brother (Ashton) got up and said goodnight. He said he was tired, so we all said our good nights while he went upstairs to the attic to sleep. A couple of minutes after the movie ended Ashton began running downstairs. Now please note that Ashton was sixteen and not easily scared. We asked him what was wrong and he said the door upstairs slammed shut while he was sleeping. All of us said it wasn't us, and he later lay down on the couch just in case it happened again where he soon fell asleep.
My mom's boyfriend went upstairs to grab another blanket after my mom fell asleep in the room behind the TV. Kylie and I heard the two doors upstairs slam while Anthony was upstairs. We ignored it thinking it was him, but when he walked down he asked us if we heard it. We said we had. He told us that the door slammed by themselves. We were worried, and we didn't believe him, so he told us he would go upstairs and get a video to prove everything to us. He came down about five minutes later, and within those five minutes we heard the doors slam once again. He came down surprised and showed the video to us. (I will try to get the video posted too. ) The doors did slam by themselves. We ran to my mom in great fear and told her what had happened, and she said ''Anthony stop tricking the girls,'' and he showed her the video too. She said it must have been the air pressure because it was a windy night.
