When I was a little girl I lived on Hinano St. Waiakea house-lots with my G-ma Ah Sing, mom and dad, aunty, uncle. I remember when everyone was at work only me and my mom would be home and we would never be in the house we would always be on the patio.
I remember hearing the cabinets open close then slamming, and dishes crashing on the floor. But when I would go with my mom to check there was nothing, everything would be in it's place. I would hear people playing pool and smell cigar smoke even though we didn't have a pool table, but I remember one night I was awoken to someone calling me name. I got up, and saw a dark shadow by the door. I thought it was my uncle calling me so I answered, but the shadow didn't move. Then minutes later I got really sick and puked all over myself. Needless to say my parents weren't to happy.
A couple nights later we all heard someone running down the hallway from my grandma's room to the door to go downstairs, then tumbling down the stairs. We all woke up, everyone scared to death thinking it was my uncle that fell since he worked late shifts. Everyone got out of their room and my dad had to go downstairs to see what was going on. To his surprise there was no one there! My dad is not the type of person who would get scared, he's a Puerto Rican for crying out loud but he was scared he said.|
We all moved out, as time went on only my G-ma lived there by herself. Then she sold the house but it never stayed to the owners too long. It was sold at least 5x throughout the years 1970's-1980s.
While dealing with some paper work my aunty who lived in the house told me when I was in my teens that my G-parents got the house for cheap and that a man had hung himself in the house, which room? I don't know but that was scary to know.
The house still stands on Hinano st... I don't know who owns it now but when I was in Hilo in 2008 I drove by and it still gave me the creeps!.
