I frantically woke up my husband and told him look the door is open get up and close the door and lock it. He stood up in a daze and closed the door blocking my view but as he walked back to the bed and got out of sight the door was wide open! I squealed look the door is open! He looked at me but tried to hide his concern.
He told me he closed the door. I could not sleep for the rest of the night. Kahaluu and ahuimanu areas are definitely
haunted by the past people that lived there.|

My husband's family had a Kaneohe home up until 70s. The house was accessible from malina place and would've sat where the windward mall's borders parking lot is today. The family had a small flower farm and would plow the fields and often unearth artifacts like lemon shape fishing stones and ulumaikas (Hawaiian bowling stones).
It was a good place to farm, water was plentiful and when the rains ran heavy, the underground springs would bubble up to the surface. I am sure there were many Hawaiian families scattered throughout that area of Kaneohe, where the mall sits.
My father in-law told me a story of how their Chinese neighbor purchased a great deal of acreage from the Hawaiian families in area for very little money. The house and lot was in an isolated area and very dark at nights.
