Waipahu, Hawaii Ghost Sightings

Waipahu PAGE 1   2   3   4   5   6   7

I grew up in Waipahu when the Oahu Sugar Mill was in operation, and my grandfather and uncles worked in the fields or in the mill. Waipahu has a lot of ghosts because of all the various ethnicities that lived in and around the mill and in the various ethnic camps located within the cane fields.

The buildings/structures, and artifacts found at the Hawaiian Plantation Museum were donated by former plantation workers/Lunas/family members in order to preserve
the rich culture that flourished when sugar cane was the king of the economy... Next to tourism.

Kapakahi stream that runs adjacent to the Hawn Plantation has many ghost stories about the green lady and menehunes that live
in/around the stream and rocks. There's also a tale about a body seen hanging around one of the S-turns on Waipahu Street.

The side of the street that the Hawn Plantation is located (makai) had wooden stores/restaurants [below that were homes w/taro and watercress patches] and on the opposite side [mauka] where the mill operated and railroad tracks (now deteriorated tracks under the bridge) lived the lunas (Oahu Sugar Mill supervisors or bosses.).
