that was eleven years ago. He passed away in the house, and we don't have much activity at all.

I live in a haunted house in Woodburn, Oregon. It is a 112-year-old green two-story Victorian with ten bedrooms, four bathrooms as well as a sewing room. I have seen a full bodied apparition only once. My daughter took of picture of my granddaughter in the dining room and caught a black smoky type thing that was solid you could not see through it. It was in the doorway to the hall. We hear things imitating us all the time. Whatever it is it would be imitating/mocking us. It also laughed, called out to us, and walked. It is my opinion that the sewing room is the most haunted room in the house. There have many experiences in relationship to that room. When my room was underneath the sewing room I would hear late at night what sounded like very heavy furniture being dragged across the room. My husband, daughter, son, and son-in-law also heard it. When we would check nothing had been moved or disturbed.
The room next to the sewing room was my granddaughter's room, and she would never sleep in it or be in it alone. She was afraid, so we moved her room downstairs to another room. She sleeps in it just fine and will play alone in that room. We have family reunions here every year. One year we put my sister and her daughter in the room next to the sewing room. After the first night in that room my sister woke up very early in the morning to use the restroom. She shut her bedroom all the way so that it clicked and saw that the sewing room door was ajar. She shut that door too making sure it clicked and went to the restroom. Upon her return which was about two or three minutes later, she walked in to the hallway to see both doors wide open (everyone in the house was still asleep. ) She talked to me later that day and said to me ''you know your house is haunted right?'' I said ''yes, we all know. '' Then she said ''well thanks for giving me the heads up. '' She then told me what had happened and I filled her in on all the haunted activities going on in the house.
When my first granddaughter was a newborn my mom and daughter went to make lunch for the three of us while I held the baby and rocked her to sleep. While my mom and daughter were in the kitchen (I was in my bedroom) they said they heard me laughing hysterically quite loud. My mom poked her head in my room to see what was so funny. I was sitting there quietly holding a sleeping newborn and had never made a sound. She asked me what was so funny, and I had a blank look on my face because I had no idea what she was talking about. I had never heard a thing, and she said ''you were laughing hysterically. '' I said ''no, I just got the baby to sleep. I have not made any noise at all. '' My mom looked at me with a confused look on her face and told me that she and my daughter just heard me laughing hysterically. I said ''oh the house is imitating me again. ''
When we would be downstairs we would hear footsteps upstairs and vice-versa. My son now uses the room next to the sewing room as his bedroom. He said he did not care about the haunting. He just wanted the bedroom. I found out some time later that he heard things from the sewing room all the time, mostly what sounds like chairs with wheels rolling across the floor. He had to lock his door with a pad lock in order to keep it from opening all the time. There was noting wrong with the door that would cause it to open on its own. We all heard our names being called when no one was calling us all the time. Sometimes the person we think is calling us is not even home. None of us has felt scared living here, but sometimes it is a bit unsettling. This house was once the hospital for the town we live in, and it was at one point a retirement home as well as a home for the mentally disturbed.
