The daytime hours in Chinook, Washington are the same as daytime hours anywhere else, but when the darkness of night starts; things become frightening. The ghosts of this municipality don’t leave anyone unstartled. Several locals declare these descriptions are lies, but the undeceased spirits of Chinook are all too real.

These are some of the spooky things that have happened here recently.

The ghost of an aged cleaning lady has purportedly been distinguished on frequent occasions watching the landscape from the top of Scarboro Hill very late at night. One thing's for certain, this is an antagonistic spirit that you don't want to encounter on a dark night.

A pitch black snake that shape-shifted into a lady can every now and then be made out flying over Hammond Boat Basin after midnight. If you talk to the folks who live here, this ghost is the undeceased soul of a long departed Chinook person who lived here.

The ghost of a youthful female clothed as a house keeper was perceived looking down into
 
    the water at Point Adams very late at night. This spirit is exceptionally active in this area; there have been a few other reports of this precise spirit.

The ghost of a youthful cowboy came into view by South Jetty in the early morning hours before sunrise gazing at the water. The watcher ran off when he witnessed the phantom.

The phantom
  of a steel-miner was seen by Brallier Swamp looking angrily at the viewer. The ghost did not mind that there was somebody other nearby. A lot of folks who live here allege this spirit is that of a resident who had a home here in Chinook some decades ago. Well, it's without a doubt a frightening ghost that any rational person wouldn't wish to run into.
