He was wearing a football uniform and helmet, which seemed odd. He looked pale slightly transparent but it could have been the fog. The back of his jersey had the letters: ''C DARLING'' on it. I didn't pay much attention to him but just after passing him I heard a loud groan. I slowed     down and looked in the rear-view mirror. I saw him float toward the trees. He wasn't walking off into the trees, his upper body wasn't moving, he seemed to be floating. I stopped the car and stepped out to get a better look and only saw a shadowy figure disappear through the trees. I went to the library a week or later and looked up the name ''C. DARLING'' in the obituaries going back about 10 years and found out that there was a ''Caleb Darling'' who played football for Gig Harbor HS in the late 1970s.
